Structured Steel ManufactureDodd Engineering carry out all types of steel repairs, manufacture new components to fit existing and new structures and installation projects. At the Ladybower reservoir Dodd Engineering carried out major steelwork repairs to two bridges, in a project lasting three years, involving: Surveying all the bridge bearings and subsequently refurbishing the cantilever and truss bearings of both bridges, machining the cantilever bearings on-site. Replacing the majority of members which were Individually measured and manufactured to suit the particular location. Manufacturing nine working platforms, 30m x 15m from 762 x 267mm I-beam section, to be suspended under the viaduct arches. Developing a modified design for the cantilever bearingside plates to permit an easily serviced greasing facility.
